New Collage - Womb Keeper

Last week I sat down to a few blank pages and just played. The piece in the middle felt ripe for a journey and in my spare time, I'd add to her, bit by bit over the week.

Womb Keeper work in progress

She began coming along until I reached  a point where I felt 'stuck'. Whenever this happens, I leave it a day or more and come back with fresh eyes. When I did, I realised she needed something - some collage.

So I sifted through my vintage National Geographic stash and found an image of a moth and  a female deity figure. I chose these images intuitively, but I think the deity might be Kwan Yin, the Eastern Goddess representing Mercy, Compassion and the manifestation of the 'Divine Mother'. The moth's meaning? Who knows. I feel protection.

This afternoon as my boys slept, I set out all my paints on the table and followed my intuition ... Some gold specks here, some tiny flames there. Before I knew it, my son was awake and I was finished. I always love it when a piece comes together so freely. Yummy stuff.

So here she is, all complete. Meet 'Womb Keeper'.

I have uploaded her to my shop, both the Original Artwork and Prints. I think she would be a beautiful gift for someone either pregnant, trying for a baby or in need of healing in the womb.

All my Love,

Chrissy xx
