Collage & Cards for Intentional Plans

Hi Beautiful,

Having ADHD means that planning ahead can be a real challenge for me. BUT, what I lack in executive function planning, I make up for with intuitive-creativity and visual-felt-sense processing!

Yesterday evening I met with my new art marketing manager Rach Yeung, and we are both very excited to create artsy magic together. So I decided to create a collage of all the things I intend for our experiences to feel like, as we collaborate.

Choosing vibe images

To begin, I flicked through a House & Garden magazine and chose imagery that spoke to the vibe of my creative love for nature, art and human connection.

I chose colours and textures that felt aligned with our collaborative vision and started arranging them into my sketchbook.

I like to tear and cut images out in creative ways, sometimes cropping out backgrounds, or merging aords and images together.

I didn’t have an end plan, I just moved the images around until it felt good in my tummy, then glued them down as I went.

Intentional Words & Images

I often find a balance of images and words can be really helpful in defining the vibe in an intentional collage.

This quote about the architect (above) really resonated with me, because Rach coming on board is taking a huge amount of stress off my creative plate. I am learning the importance of support structures for people who identify as neurodiverse, so being able to outsource tasks so I can focus in me genius zone, feels truly revolutionary and self-honouring! What a blessing to be at the stage of my art career where I can outsource, and be the recipient of quality support.

Using Cards for Intention-Strengthening

I have been using cards for years now, to identify, remind and strengthen my resolve into new territory.

I have displayed this Support card (above) for weeks now, to remind me of the beauty and flow during supportive exchanges (from my pal Ellen’s Stapleton’s amazing Mandala Affirmation Cards HERE).

I also chose a few cards from my Intuition Wisdom Deck for Rach, to get inspired by and ground into on her journey ahead with Artuition.

Creating Your Own Intention Cards

Here are some of my teen students’ handmade card decks, created during my recent affirmation cards workshops with Moreton Bay Libraries.

I supplied some nice card stock with magazines, paint pens and watercolour paints, and the artists chose imagery that felt high-vibey for them personally.

I find it endlessly fascinating to see how everyone can be provided with the same materials and yet the intentional expressions are all so unique! Creativity has such an amazing capacity to communicate and hold a myriad of ideas.
